Who’s Sheri Cook?

Hello! My name is Sheri Cook and I have taught ASL and Deaf Studies courses at John A. Logan College from 2003 until 2010. I am still at JALC, but now I work as the director for Gallaudet University Regional Center for the Midwest. My office is on campus in office C202B (near Admissions). I am busy working for 13 Midwest states. To find out more about what I do, go to http://gurc-midwest.weebly.com/.

When I taught ASL classes at JALC, I used this website to help my students find ways to review their ASL vocabulary and dialogues. You are more than welcome to use this site. It is much better to review signs by watching videos than from your ASL books.

Sheri Cook’s Bio:
I have a bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education from Northern Illinois University and a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics from Southern Illinois University.
I taught at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf for nearly seven years before moving to southern Illinois. I also worked as a trainer/consultant for the Illinois School for the Deaf Outreach Program from 2000-2010.
I am deaf and come from a deaf family.  I have many cousins on my father’s side who are deaf.  I grew up in the city of Chicago and I am a die hard CUBS fan!
